Our beloved 1955 Queen of the Snows and Founder of the Former Queens, Dorothy passed away in the fall of 2025.

​

Dorothy was truly special to our organization and all who knew her. She embodied the spirit of Winter Carnival, and remained devoted to the festival and its traditions through her life. We are especially grateful for her vision and leadership as the founder of the Former Queens, the very first organization created for the women who served as Legend characters. Dorothy had a vision to bring women together in solidarity and support, and that vision continues to live on in all who are chosen to serve as Aurora, Queen of the Snows.
